See beyond sales.
ProfitMagnify shows order, SKU, and channel contribution for Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, and your own site — from the costs you actually know. Estimates stay labelled. Missing costs are not treated as zero.
Launch-list signup is not part of this prototype, so there is no email field. The button opens sample data on this device. Nothing is sent to a server.
1 · Upload
Bring product costs, orders, and ad spend in as CSV. Documented templates, column mapping, and a reimport that updates the same order instead of duplicating it.
2 · Inspect
See contribution per order, SKU, and channel. Each cost is actual, estimated, or missing. The headline number is withheld when a required cost is unknown.
3 · Export
Download the same breakdown. A blank contribution in the file means the figure was withheld, not that the order made nothing.
What the number is
Order contribution
Order contribution is sales after discounts and refunds, excluding VAT, minus purchase cost, marketplace fees, payment fees, outbound postage, packaging, pick and pack, and allocated advertising. It excludes overheads (software, staff, storage, insurance) and corporation or income tax. It is not net profit.
Margin denominator
Contribution margin divides order contribution by net sales excluding VAT. Net sales are merchandise after discounts and merchandise refunds, plus shipping charged to the customer after shipping refunds, all excluding VAT. VAT is in neither the numerator nor the denominator. If net sales are zero or negative, margin is undefined and is shown as a dash.
Actual, estimated, missing
Actual means the figure was entered on the order or typed as a confirmed amount, including an explicit 0.00. Estimated means a fee rule or packaging default produced it, and it is not a reconciled charge. Missing means the cost is unknown and is not treated as zero: contribution is withheld. Excluded means the item is left out on purpose (advertising that was not uploaded) and is not shown as £0.00.
Advertising
Advertising is allocated across GBP orders in the same channel whose order date falls inside the uploaded period, in proportion to ex-VAT merchandise value after discounts and refunds. The method is largest remainder, with ties broken by the earlier order. This is an estimate labelled allocated. It is not direct attribution to a click or a campaign sale. Orders outside a covered period, or on a channel with no upload, exclude advertising rather than recording £0.00. Filtering the dashboard does not re-allocate spend. Overlapping uploads are both applied, and the importer warns. Spend in a currency other than GBP is listed as unallocated and is not converted.
Coverage
This prototype reads CSV files. It does not connect to a marketplace, a shop, or an ads account. Direct integrations are a later product, not a feature of this build.
